Audit Senior (Benoni or Pretoria)

The ideal candidate will assist the partner and other managers as needed, but not limited to:

  • Examine, analyse, and interpret accounting records to prepare financial statements (IFRS for SME’s and full IFRS)
  • Preparing accounting work relating to annual financial statements.
  • Carrying out advanced audit/review tests and procedures as per the LGE guidelines
  • Carrying out the initial review over junior’s work
  • Coaching / training of junior staff
  • Can ask questions where necessary after thinking of your own solution/s and have an understanding of all work that has been delegated to them.
  • Evaluate the results of the procedures / tests performed
  • Duties to be performed in terms of the requirements per the SAICA contract
  • Running an audit from the start to the finish in accordance with ISA and LGE company policies (i.e. from client acceptance to archiving and billing)
  • Project management of 2 audits or more at the same time
  • Managing and taking responsibility for the audit budget as well as overruns
  • Report writing – initial drafts
  • Liaising with the client on audit related matters
  • Issuing of assurance related billings done
  • Management of SAICA TSR/PSR and ANA process of yourself and assisting juniors with the process
  • Ensuring that you meet the minimum billings hours as per the LGE standards


  • B.Com or equivalent degree at a SAICA accredited university or continuously studying towards aforementioned degree
  • Prior SAICA article experience required of at least 18 months.
  • Ability to take direction and work well in a team.
  • Pro-active and self motivated.
  • Responsible and dedicated to “going the extra mile”.
  • Must demonstrate personal and time management skills in order to ensure deadlines are met.
  • Presentable and well spoken.
  • Dedicated to quality service.
  • Be willing and able to provide assistance and coaching of junior staff.
  • Be actively working towards obtaining the CA (SA) designation
  • MS Excel and MS Word literacy required at intermediate level
  • Own transport and a valid drivers license is preferred
  • Travelling to clients, local and national will be required
  • Overtime will be required from time to time to meet client deadlines
